Ameline Sørgen
Sørgen (she / they, born 1998) is a Norwegian actor, director and psychologist. She holds a Trade Certificate in Musical Theatre (Bårdar Akademiet), a BSc in Psychology (INN) and an MSc in Creative Arts and Mental Health (QMUL).
After years of freelancing in the performing arts and communal psychiatry, they are now employed as an Informations Consultant for young people at UngOrg in Oslo. At the same time, they freelance through their business AMÉSO and theatre companies rasa and HellSprell, and are open to work (also internationally)!
Their long term goal is to continue working within both theatre and psychology, whilst building a workspace on the fields´ intersectionality; strengthening their relationship in a Norwegian context. My thesis For The Theatre-Maker: Psychoeducational Theatre (PET) for Adults is a literary investigation proposing a new framework and evaluating its potential for survival, looking to how the «everyday-performer» can help reintroduce adults to play, with a particular interest in using play as a preventative mental health measure.
